‘A Court of Mist and Fury’ by Sarah J. Maas was a rollercoaster of the written word for me. It was beautifully executed. As I said in my review of ACOTAR, the style of prose is right up my street and so the pages and chapters flew past along with the time. If possible, I found this book much more captivating and there was so much more world building, history about Prythian and new characters as well as development on the existing ones.
If you’re unaware of what this book entails, it follows Feyre’s adjustment into a very long Fae life. It shows you her journey from captive to a free woman with the same equality an choices as Fae men and its all due to the High Lord of the Night Court. If that doesn’t sound appealing to you, why are you reading this?
Feyre’s journey was a long road and I really enjoyed seeing her adjust and grow into her new Fae body and powers. She definitely developed the most and I loved it. By the end of the story, she has endless love in her heart and a will of iron to make sure she can protect those she cares for.
Now let’s talk about shipping. I shipped and I shipped until I could ship no more and it finally happened. Hurray! Feysand are my ultimate relationship goals and I couldn’t get enough of them. I want more dammit! And even though the ending isn’t ideal for them, I know that the next book is gonna be juicy.
The Court of Dreams are a family I wanna be a part of. I like how Maas gave them all individual dramas and yet when it’s crunch they put it aside and be the awesome team they are. I also love the equality in this book. So many strong characters and gender isn’t an issue in that. Sending a lovely message to this generation.
